Top Shelf launches their DRM-free digital store.

If you didn't know this, I love digital comics. I do a lot of purchasing on Comixology and Amazon and others. I have no large problem with them being the holders of the content I've paid my money to own. At least not large enough to stop me from purchasing with them.

No book was ever better suited to be DRM-free. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, should read March: Book One. And then read it with their kids.

That said, my true nature is all gung-ho about DRM-free. I am a very strong advocate of having complete control over something you've purchased. I won't purchase on iBooks ever again because I not only have to access my purchases through their store, I have to do it only on Apple devices.

As I said in my review, there are reasons beyond just the great story and art that I made The Private Eye my first one. Reasonable pricing and DRM-free works. Louis CK proved this. I hope that Panel Syndicate has good numbers as well.

So add to my list of "good luck" wishes Top Shelf comics who just a few weeks ago announced the launch of their DRM-free online store. It might not yet be the biggest selection but they've got some great books there like The Surrogates and March: Book One.
